Once your new wheels and tires are installed, step back and take a good look. They look great now, but unfortunately, over time your wheels are often the dirtiest part of your vehicle.
Have you ever noticed that the front wheels of many cars and trucks on the road appear dirtier than the back wheels of the very same car or truck. This is caused by the accumulation of brake dust as heated dust particles from brake pads bombard the wheel and bake into the finish. Over time if not maintained all wheels become dirty and dull. If left on the wheel, corrosion sets in and will eventually destroy your wheel's appearance.
The best way to take care of wheels without damaging their protective finish is by frequently washing them with a mild Detergent or car wash solution such as Mothers California Gold Car Wash, Meguiar's Deep Crystal Car Wash or one of the other detergents or car wash solution we recommend in our product review article detergents and car wash for your wheels and rims.
Unfortunately just a regular car wash solution may not work for you if the accumulation of brake dust and grime is to heavy. To properly clean you must use a acid based cleaner like Meguiar's Gold Class Instant Wheel Cleaner or one of the many other brands we recommend in our product review article acid based cleaners for your wheels and rims. However there is an alternative to acid based cleaners that you should consider. In our product review article acid free cleaners for your wheels and rims are brands that you should consider first.
